Recent Happenings

"So far this year, I've done more commissioned portraits of dogs, people, and cats than horses and their riders. Perhaps that had something to do with Dutch throwing me this spring and breaking five of my ribs - but I hope not! This year has also seen me doing more plein aire painting of landscapes, and I'm really enjoying it. I'll have a new gallery page devoted to it when my site is redesigned in the near future. "I did these two gouaches after visiting the Woodbrook Hunt in Tacoma, Washington one Fall. The rapport between riders and horses, and the Master of the Foxhounds and his dogs, was exceptional. This being a 'drag' hunt where a scent is laid down to follow -- no live game is used as prey."
